A better way to read a supplement label.
The front of a bottle tells only part of the story.
Serving size matters
Supplement Facts amounts apply to the stated serving, which may be more than one capsule or tablet.
Check names and amounts
Review the amount per serving and percent Daily Value when provided. A bigger number is not automatically better.
Check other ingredients, allergens, storage information, directions, and cautions. Look for manufacturer contact details.
Verify special claims
Do not infer kosher, vegan, allergen-free, or independently tested status from the brand image. Look for current documentation for that product.
Add up overlapping ingredients
Multivitamins, B-complex products, and specialty formulas may repeat the same nutrient. Consider the combined intake.
